Job Description

The Exchange Restaurant is seeking a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Full-Time Order Taker to join our restaurant team. The Order Taker will be responsible for greeting customers, taking accurate food and beverage orders, processing orders through the point-of-sale system, and providing excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders in person, by phone, or through other assigned ordering channels.
• Answer customer questions regarding menu items, ingredients, and available options.
• Enter orders accurately into the restaurant POS system.
• Confirm order details, including special requests and modifications.
• Communicate orders clearly with kitchen and service team members.
• Process payments and provide receipts as required.
• Maintain knowledge of current menu items, specials, and promotions.
• Help resolve customer questions or concerns professionally.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned work area.
• Follow company procedures, food safety requirements, and customer service standards.
• Assist with other front-of-house duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food service, cashier, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and order accuracy.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer and POS system skills preferred.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple customer orders.
• Reliable, punctual, and professional.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Work Schedule

Full-time. Schedule may include daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts based on restaurant operational needs.
