Order Taker

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Order Taker to join our team in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering excellent customer service and possess strong communication skills. This role involves taking customer orders accurately, handling transactions, and ensuring a positive dining experience. Previous restaurant experience and familiarity with food industry standards are preferred. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, cashiering, and upselling within a dynamic team setting.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using POS systems such as Micros POS
• Handle cash transactions with precision, including cash handling and basic math calculations
• Assist with food preparation and ensure proper food handling and sanitation standards are maintained
• Upsell menu items to maximize sales opportunities while providing excellent customer service
• Manage order flow efficiently during busy periods to reduce wait times
• Maintain cleanliness of the ordering area, including sanitation and food safety protocols
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders
• Provide information about menu items, specials, and promotions to customers
• Ensure all food safety guidelines are followed according to industry standards

Experience

• Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is advantageous
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively
• Experience in cashiering, food handling, and sanitation practices required
• Knowledge of the food industry standards for safety and cleanliness
• Basic math skills for cash handling and order calculations necessary
• Ability to manage time effectively during peak hours and multitask efficiently
• Kitchen or serving experience is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided for specific duties
