Organic Chemist (contract)

About the role

The Organic Chemist will have a strong background in Organic Chemistry, focused on synthesis and characterization. Responsibilities include efficiently designing target molecules considering potential IP and cost as well as performing laboratory synthesis in respect to company safety policy.

Key responsibilities

• Design target molecules by taking into account potential IP and cost and selecting rational pathway avoiding restricted chemicals by company or Thai regulation
• Contribute to synthetic pathways development for relevant candidate molecules and/or liaise with toll manufacturing partner
• Plan and formulate aspects of research and development proposals such as objective or purpose of project, applications that can be utilized from findings, costs of project, and equipment and human resource requirements
• Conduct hands-on experimental work using floor-scale R&D machinery
• Design experiments and conduct or supervise laboratory work
• Record and analyze results, prepare comprehensive capitalization reports for R&D programs or projects
• Participate in casting process development
• Draft SOPs and specifications as per program or project needs
• Maintain knowledge in key academic fields by performing regular literature watch and participate to academic events
• Participate in IP related work

About you

• Master's degree or PhD in Organic Chemistry
• At least five years working experience in organic synthesis in the laboratory
• Experience in manufacturing or industrial chemistry is a plus
• Interpersonal skills to establish a solid network and good working relationship throughout the organization
• Good command of English both written and spoken
