Orthodontic Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Orthodontic Assistant to join our elite orthodontic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care while assisting the orthodontist during procedures. This position requires proficiency in various dental technologies and practices, as well as a strong understanding of orthodontic procedures and patient management.

We do travel to other locations periodically to help provide excellent care to patients in other areas. Willingness to travel is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during clinical procedures.
• Work independently to carry out the orthodontist's instructions
• Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and aseptic techniques.
• Take X-rays
• Manage patient records, including medical documentation, and medical records management.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care specific to orthodontics.
• Operate 3D scanners for orthodontic imaging and treatment planning.
• Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, tooth identification, dental tools, etc.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a dental clinic setting is preferred, with specific experience in orthodontics being highly desirable.
• Experience is not mandatory. Willing to train the right person in all aspects of orthodontic assisting.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and compliance.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent people skills to ensure excellent communication and a comfortable experience.
• Knowledge of infection control practices and aseptic techniques is required.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
