What they need

Are you an experienced dental, orthodontic, medical, or healthcare front-office professional who is ready to take on more responsibility?

Lazin Family Orthodontics is looking for a Practice Operations Coordinator to join our growing team. This position is designed for someone who understands the day-to-day demands of a healthcare practice and is ready to use that experience in a broader role focused on practice operations, problem-solving, project ownership, and continuous improvement.

You'll work closely with our doctor and management team to help keep our two locations organized, efficient, and running smoothly. You'll continue to interact with patients and support the front office, but you'll also take ownership of projects and responsibilities that go beyond the traditional front desk.

Our goal is to find someone who can grow with us—from an experienced front-office professional into a larger practice operations and management role.

What Makes This Role Different?

This isn't a traditional administrative assistant or receptionist position.

We're looking for someone who can see the bigger picture of how a dental practice operates.

You may start your day helping with a patient or front-office need and spend the afternoon working on a vendor issue, improving an office process, preparing a report, coordinating a project, or helping implement a new system.

The right person will gradually take ownership of increasingly important areas of the practice.

Your Role in Practice Operations

You'll help our doctor and management team keep the practice organized, efficient, and moving forward.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Coordinating operational projects across our Greenwood and Southport locations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve office systems, workflows, and efficiency
  • Preparing and maintaining reports, spreadsheets, and practice information
  • Managing administrative records and digital organization
  • Coordinating vendors, service providers, repairs, and office projects
  • Monitoring supplies, placing orders, and helping manage purchasing costs
  • Following projects from the initial request through completion
  • Helping implement new processes, systems, and practice initiatives
  • Identifying problems and taking initiative to find solutions

Patient & Front-Office Experience

Your healthcare front-office experience will be an important foundation for this position.

You'll provide front-office support when needed, including:

  • Answering phones and assisting with patient scheduling
  • Communicating with patients and parents
  • Supporting a positive patient experience
  • Learning and utilizing our practice management software
  • Helping other front-office team members when additional coverage is needed

Project Ownership & Special Initiatives

As you become familiar with our practice, we expect you to take ownership of projects rather than simply complete assigned tasks.

Depending on your strengths and interests, projects may include:

  • Improving an office workflow or system
  • Coordinating a new vendor or service
  • Organizing an office improvement project
  • Developing a more efficient inventory or ordering process
  • Helping coordinate marketing or community initiatives
  • Assisting with practice events and partnerships
  • Creating reports or systems that help management make better decisions
  • Helping implement new technology or processes

We want someone who can take a project from "this needs to be done" to "it's done."

Who We're Looking For

The best fit will be someone who has spent time in a dental, orthodontic, medical, or healthcare front-office environment and has developed strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

We're looking for someone who:

  • Understands the pace and priorities of a healthcare practice
  • Enjoys working with patients but is also interested in what happens behind the scenes
  • Naturally looks for ways to make things work better
  • Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what to do
  • Can manage multiple priorities and follow through
  • Is highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Is comfortable communicating with doctors, coworkers, patients, vendors, and community partners
  • Is confident learning new technology and software
  • Is comfortable with spreadsheets, reports, and basic data
  • Can work independently while remaining a strong team member
  • Is dependable, professional, and willing to jump in wherever needed

Qualifications

Preferred:

  • 2+ years of experience in a dental, orthodontic, medical, or healthcare office
  • Experience with practice management or scheduling software
  • Experience with patient scheduling and front-office workflows
  • Experience coordinating projects, vendors, or office operations
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree

Required:

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently

Orthodontic experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate with strong healthcare front-office experience and the organizational and problem-solving skills we're looking for.

We're not looking for someone who simply wants another job. We're looking for someone who wants to become an important part of how our practice operates and grows.

Schedule

Full-Time | Monday–Thursday

This position works between our Greenwood and Southport locations.

Our four-day workweek provides a consistent three-day weekend while offering a full-time professional opportunity.
