OSH Specialist

About the role

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the physical safety, health, and security of the company and its employees. This position is tasked with identifying, analyzing, and controlling workplace hazards, conducting risk assessments, and enforcing preventative measures in full compliance with Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) standards.

What you'll be doing

• Develops, establishes, and maintains comprehensive written OSH administrative policies and disaster contingency plans in accordance with DOLE standards.

• Acts as the primary advisor to management and employees on all health, safety, and regulatory compliance matters.

• Directs and coordinates workplace accident prevention programs and emergency service units.

• Conducts regular health and safety inspections and conducts at least a monthly appraisal of company safety performance.

• Serves as a certified First Aider during workplace health emergencies, providing immediate initial care and coordinating medical responses.

• Maintains an efficient accident record system, investigates incidents, and coordinates corrective actions with supervisors.

• Serves as an active member of the Health and Safety Committee, participating in regular meetings, inspections, and accident investigations.

• Facilitates and leads monthly safety committee meetings.

• Acts as the primary liaison for government authorities (DOLE) during scheduled safety inspections.

• Ensures timely submission of all mandatory periodic OSH reports and meeting minutes to enforcing authorities.

• Initiates, facilitate, and coordinates safety orientation and OSH training programs for management and staff.

• Perform other tasks as assigned.

What we're looking for

• Graduate of any 4 or 5-year course (any 4- or 5-year course)

• Have at least 3 years' relative experience preferably in an automotive industry.

• Computer Literate (Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

• Knowledge in First Aid and Emergency Response

• Knowledgeable with OSH Standard

• Corporate Environmental, Safety and Health Policy and Preventive Maintenance.

• Good Communication skills both oral and written.

• Excellent leadership and inter-personal skills.
