OSP Construction Helper (Wireless)

Position Overview

Support wireless telecommunications construction projects, including small cell, ODAS, rooftop, and new site builds. Work alongside lead technicians in teams to assist with the installation, testing, and maintenance of wireless network infrastructure. Opportunities for advancement into various areas of wireless telecommunications construction and deployment.

Key Responsibilities

Civil Construction Support

• Support greenfield cell site construction activities.
• Perform trenching, excavation, conduit installation, and concrete work.
• Assist with site preparation for the installation of telecommunications shelters and towers.
• Maintain a safe and productive job site while following established work procedures.

Wireless Installation & Testing

• Assist with the installation and mounting of remote radio heads (RRHs), antennas, and related wireless equipment.
• Perform equipment alignment, testing, and troubleshooting using tools such as OTDRs, power meters, and spectrum analyzers.
• Support 5G equipment upgrades, shell work, and small cell deployments.
• Participate in warehouse pre-builds, staging activities, and field installations.
• Assist with rooftop and tower-based wireless infrastructure projects.

Customer & Team Support

• Work closely with lead technicians and crew members in a team-oriented environment.
• Interact professionally with customers and site contacts when required.
• Support varying project needs in both field and warehouse environments.

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of telecommunications construction experience (ISP/OSP experience preferred).
• Knowledge of hand tools and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Comfortable working at moderate heights, including rooftop environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Reliable, dependable, and eager to learn new skills.
• Ability to travel occasionally and stay overnight when project needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating boom lifts or lift equipment.
• OSHA 10 certification.
• Ownership of basic hand tools.

Work Environment

• Combination of field-based construction work and warehouse staging activities.
• Team-oriented environment with varying day-to-day responsibilities.
• Typical schedule is approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexibility based on project requirements.
• Employees generally report to a central location before traveling to job sites with their crew.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00/hr.
