What they need
- Install, maintain, and repair fiber-optic and copper outside plant facilities.
- Perform fiber-optic cable pulling, splicing, termination, and testing.
- Conduct cable testing using equipment such as OTDR, optical power meter, and light source.
- Troubleshoot fiber and copper network faults and identify cable damage or signal issues.
- Install and maintain poles, aerial cables, underground conduits, handholes, cabinets, and closures.
- Read and interpret OSP engineering drawings, plans, maps, and cable routes.
- Perform cable locating, route inspections, and site surveys.
- Document completed work, test results, materials used, and network conditions.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, customers, and utility companies when required.
- Follow company procedures, telecommunications standards, and occupational safety requirements.
- Work outdoors and in various weather and site conditions.
