What they need

About the Role

GREENFEED is an integrated Feed - Farm - Food - Logistics group operating manufacturing plants, farms and other operational sites. We are looking for an OT & Automation Solution Architect to define and govern scalable, secure and standardized OT (Operational Technology) and automation solutions integrated with enterprise IT, data and cloud platforms.

The role works across SCADA, PLC, industrial networks, edge/IoT and automation environments, partnering with Operations, Engineering, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data & AI and technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

  1. OT Architecture & Standards

• Own target architecture, reference designs, technology roadmaps and technical standards for OT and automation across plants, farms and other operational sites.

• Lead architecture reviews and provide technical direction for new initiatives, plant upgrades and site expansion projects.

• Drive reusable and scalable designs while balancing site-specific operational requirements; evaluate technology options based on reliability, lifecycle, interoperability, security and total cost of ownership.

  1. SCADA, Automation & Industrial Connectivity

• Define architecture principles and standards for SCADA, PLC, HMI, historian, sensors, gateways and related automation platforms.

• Support modernization and integration of existing control environments with minimal production disruption.

• Define industrial network and connectivity requirements, including segmentation, redundancy, secure remote access and site-to-enterprise connectivity; support plant and farm automation initiatives that improve visibility, control, productivity and equipment reliability.

  1. OT Integration, Data & Cloud

• Define integration architecture between OT systems and enterprise applications, data platforms and cloud services.

• Establish standard OT data exchange patterns using technologies such as OPC UA, MQTT, APIs, gateways or messaging.

• Enable secure use of operational data for monitoring, analytics, optimization and AI; work with Data & AI and application teams to reduce unnecessary point-to-point integrations and improve data reliability and traceability.

  1. OT Security & Resilience

• Work with Cybersecurity and Infrastructure teams to define OT security architecture and controls, including segmentation, secure remote access, privileged access, logging, backup and recovery.

• Support OT security assessments and remediation while considering operational continuity and safety.

• Ensure appropriate resilience, redundancy and recovery capabilities for critical operations.

  1. Architecture Governance & Vendor Management

• Own architecture governance, technical requirements, design guidelines and solution review criteria for OT and automation initiatives.

• Review and challenge vendor designs and proposals; participate in technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts and vendor selection.

• Reduce unnecessary technology fragmentation and vendor dependency through standardization, documentation and effective knowledge transfer.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Control Engineering, Information Technology or a related field.

• 7+ years of relevant experience in industrial automation, OT, manufacturing technology or related environments, including solution design or architecture experience.

• Strong practical knowledge of SCADA, PLC, HMI, industrial networking and automation architectures, with experience connecting OT systems to enterprise IT, cloud or data platforms.

• Good understanding of industrial communication protocols, OT cybersecurity, network segmentation, secure remote access, backup and recovery.

• Experience working with manufacturing plants, farms, industrial facilities or other distributed operational environments.

• Ability to translate operational requirements into practical, scalable and maintainable technology solutions, with strong analytical, communication, stakeholder and vendor management skills.

• Experience with Siemens, Schneider Electric or equivalent automation platforms; familiarity with OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT, historian, IoT/edge computing or predictive maintenance is an advantage.

• Knowledge of ISA-95, Purdue Model, IEC 62443 or similar OT architecture/security frameworks, relevant certifications, and experience in food, feed, agriculture, livestock or process industries are an advantage.
