1. Job Summary

The OT Assistant will be responsible for preparing and maintaining the Operation Theatre, assisting surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures, and ensuring proper sterilization, infection control, and patient safety.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operation Theatre before and after surgical procedures.
• Arrange and check surgical instruments, equipment, medicines, and consumables required for surgeries.
• Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff during routine and emergency procedures, as directed.
• Ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments.
• Assist in safe patient shifting, positioning, and pre-operative and post-operative care as per hospital protocols.
• Check the availability and basic functioning of OT equipment, suction machines, OT lights, and other essential equipment.
• Maintain adequate stock of OT supplies and report shortages or damaged equipment to the OT In-charge.
• Follow infection control practices, biomedical waste management guidelines, and hospital safety protocols.
• Maintain OT registers, sterilization records, and other required documentation.
• Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff to ensure smooth OT functioning.
• Maintain patient confidentiality, discipline, punctuality, and professional conduct.

3. Educational Qualification

• Diploma or Certificate in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or an equivalent relevant qualification preferred.

4. Required Experience

• 5–7 years of relevant experience in a hospital Operation Theatre.
• Practical experience in OT preparation, surgical instrument handling, sterilization, and infection control.
• Experience handling routine and emergency surgical procedures will be preferred.

5. Required Skills

• Good knowledge of surgical instruments and OT equipment.
• Strong understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and during emergencies.
• Good teamwork, communication, and coordination skills.
• Responsible, disciplined, and detail-oriented approach.

6. Working Conditions

• Full-time, on-site position.
• Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including night shifts, weekends, and emergency duties as required.

7. Salary and Benefits

Salary will be decided according to prevailing market standards, the candidate’s qualifications, relevant experience, and skills. Other benefits will be as per hospital policy.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
