OT Systems Supervisor

At GAMA Enerji, we are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented OT Systems Supervisor to join our team. The OT Systems Supervisor is responsible for the reliable, secure, and standardized operation of Operational Technology (OT) infrastructure across GAMA Energy's generation and water infrastructure fleet, including wind farms, hydroelectric plants, solar plants, and the water conveyance project. The role supports plant operations by managing OT systems, virtualization platforms, industrial networks, system integrations, cybersecurity controls, and lifecycle activities in line with corporate and regulatory requirements. The role also builds the OT foundation for the company's digitalization and autonomous operations roadmap, including remote operations capability, fleet-wide data platforms, and analytics-ready infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

OT Systems & Infrastructure

• Manage and support OT systems including DCS, SCADA, OEM wind turbine SCADA, hydro unit control systems (governors, excitation, unit PLCs), solar inverter and Power Plant Controller (PPC) systems, RTUs, pump station and valve control systems for the water conveyance line, HMI, Historian (AVEVA PI System, formerly OSIsoft), engineering workstations, application servers, and related infrastructure.
• Develop a roadmap for OT systems development/replacement across all facilities.Support OT system upgrades, migrations, commissioning, and modernization projects
• Support business development by developing and implementing OT standards and policies for new asset builds or acquisitions
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of critical OT infrastructure.
• Manage OT servers, operating systems, storage, and supporting infrastructure.
• Manage OT technology lifecycle, obsolescence, and capacity requirements.
• Work closely with IT department to ensure secure, compliant and reliable integration of OT systems with IT infrastructure.

Virtualization, Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Manage OT virtualization platforms, including VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
• Maintain virtual machines, hosts, clusters, storage, and high-availability configurations.
• Manage OT system backup, restore, replication, and disaster recovery capabilities.
• Perform periodic backup validation and recovery testing.
• Support the development and testing of OT disaster recovery procedures.

OT Network & Connectivity

• Support and maintain industrial network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing, and network segmentation.
• Manage wide-area communications between geographically dispersed sites, including fiber, cellular (LTE/4G/5G), and satellite links for remote facilities and the water conveyance route.
• Support secure connectivity between OT systems, plants, centralized platforms, and authorized external services.
• Implement and maintain secure vendor and remote access solutions.
• Monitor network availability, performance, and communication issues.

Industrial Communication Protocols

• Understand and troubleshoot industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA/DA, IEC 61850, IEC 60870-5-104, DNP3, PROFINET, and other relevant protocols.
• Support communication between DCS/SCADA, PLCs, RTUs, inverters, IEDs, historians, and data platforms.
• Support telemetry and data exchange with TEİAŞ and other grid and regulatory parties in line with grid-code and reporting requirements.
• Support secure and reliable OT/IT data integration.

Digitalization & Remote Operations

• Support the design and rollout of a centralized Remote Operations Center (ROC) enabling fleet-wide monitoring and progressively autonomous operation of wind, hydro, solar, and water conveyance assets.
• Build and maintain analytics-ready OT data pipelines from site systems to centralized and cloud data platforms, ensuring data quality, context, and availability.
• Support IIoT and edge computing deployments for condition monitoring and predictive maintenance use cases.
• Evaluate and implement secure cloud/OT hybrid architectures in coordination with IT and cybersecurity functions.
• Contribute to the OT roadmap for increasing levels of remote and autonomous operation, including the required automation, safety, and cybersecurity prerequisites.

OT Cybersecurity

• Implement OT cybersecurity controls in coordination with the IT/OT Security & Standards function.
• Support network segmentation, system hardening, endpoint protection, application allowlisting, secure remote access, logging, and privileged access controls.
• Perform technical activities related to OT vulnerability and patch management.
• Support security monitoring and incident investigation for OT environments.
• Maintain secure OT configuration baselines.

ISO 27001 & EPDK Cybersecurity Maturity Model

• Support technical implementation of controls required by ISO/IEC 27001 and the EPDK Cybersecurity Maturity Model.
• Provide technical evidence for internal audits, external audits, and EPDK cybersecurity maturity assessments.
• Support cybersecurity gap assessments and implementation of remediation actions.
• Maintain required technical documentation, records, and evidence.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the organization's OT cybersecurity maturity level.

Monitoring & Incident Management

• Monitor OT infrastructure health, availability, capacity, and performance.
• Troubleshoot OT system, server, virtualization, network, and communication incidents.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for significant or recurring incidents.
• Coordinate technical resolution with plant teams, OEMs, vendors, and system integrators.
• Support centralized fleet monitoring and incident management activities.

Leadership & Coordination

• Supervise and develop the OT systems team, including workload planning, technical coaching, and performance management.
• Manage OEM, vendor, and system integrator relationships, contracts, and service levels for the OT scope.
• Plan and manage the OT budget for lifecycle, projects, and services within the area of responsibility.
• Coordinate closely with plant managers, IT, and the IT/OT Security & Standards function.

Qualifications & Requirements

• B.Sc. in Electrical/Electronics, Control & Automation, Computer, or Energy Systems Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of OT/ICS experience in power generation or utilities, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or technical lead role; experience with renewable fleets (wind, hydro, solar) strongly preferred.
• Hands-on experience with SCADA/HMI platforms, AVEVA PI System, virtualization (VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V), and industrial networking.
• Working knowledge of OT cybersecurity standards and frameworks, including ISA/IEC 62443, ISO/IEC 27001, and the EPDK Cybersecurity Maturity Model.
• Preferred certifications: ISA/IEC 62443 cybersecurity certificates, GICSP, VCP, CCNA or equivalent networking certification.
• Fluency in Turkish and English, written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel regularly to sites across Türkiye and to participate in an on-call rotation.
• Ability to meet security and criticality requirements applicable to EPDK-regulated critical energy infrastructure.
• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
