1. Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and skilled OT Technician to join our hospital team. The candidate will be responsible for preparing the Operation Theatre, handling surgical instruments and equipment, assisting the surgical and anaesthesia teams, maintaining sterile conditions, and ensuring patient safety before, during, and after surgical procedures.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operation Theatre, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before each procedure.
• Assist surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and nursing staff during surgical procedures.
• Handle and arrange surgical instruments, sterile drapes, sutures, and other OT materials.
• Maintain strict aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and infection control protocols.
• Check the functioning of OT equipment, including OT tables, lights, suction machines, electrocautery units, and laparoscopic equipment.
• Assist with patient positioning, safe transfer, and preparation for surgery as directed by the clinical team.
• Maintain and check anaesthesia equipment and medical gas supplies in coordination with the anaesthesia team.
• Ensure proper counting and accounting of surgical instruments, needles, and swabs in coordination with the surgical team.
• Handle surgical specimens appropriately and ensure proper labelling and transfer.
• Clean, disinfect, and prepare the OT for subsequent procedures.
• Coordinate with the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) for sterilization and availability of instruments.
• Maintain OT registers, equipment checklists, sterilization records, and inventory.
• Follow biomedical waste management, fire safety, and hospital infection control guidelines.
• Ensure OT readiness for emergency surgeries and assist during emergency procedures.
• Report equipment malfunction, shortages, or safety concerns to the OT In-charge.

3. Educational Qualification

• Diploma or B.Sc. in Operation Theatre Technology (OTT) or an equivalent recognized qualification preferred.

4. Experience Required

• 5–7 years of hands-on experience as an OT Technician in a hospital.
• Experience in handling surgical instruments, OT equipment, sterilization, and infection control.
• Experience in a multispeciality hospital and exposure to different types of surgeries will be preferred.
• Knowledge of emergency OT procedures and equipment troubleshooting is desirable.

5. Required Skills

• Good knowledge of surgical instruments and OT equipment.
• Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection prevention.
• Ability to work efficiently during emergencies and under pressure.
• Good communication, teamwork, and coordination skills.
• Attention to detail, discipline, and commitment to patient safety.

6. Working Conditions

• Full-time, on-site position.
• Willingness to work rotational shifts, night shifts, weekends, and emergency duties as required.

7. Salary and Benefits

Salary will be decided according to prevailing market standards, the candidate’s qualifications, experience, technical skills, and suitability for the role. Other benefits will be as per hospital policy.

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
