What they need

About Flowdesk At Flowdesk, we are building the infrastructure powering the next era of global finance. As a full-service digital asset trading and technology firm, we provide liquidity solutions, OTC trading, and market infrastructure that connect digital assets to global markets with institutional-grade precision, transparency, and scale. Flowdesk combines expertise from traditional finance, algorithmic trading, and blockchain technology to deliver always-on trading capabilities across the digital asset ecosystem.

Founded in 2020, we have grown into a global team supporting institutions, exchanges, and token issuers worldwide as the financial system evolves toward tokenized markets.

Why join Flowdesk? You'll be joining a company operating at the intersection of finance, technology, and crypto - solving complex market problems, building critical infrastructure, and helping shape how digital assets move globally. We move fast, think long term, and work with a strong ownership mindset across engineering, trading, product, operations, and business teams.

Role Description Our OTC Tech team builds and maintains the systems behind our OTC derivatives trading, working directly with traders and quants. The team is small, so engineers have wide ownership and a direct line to the people using what they build.

We are looking for a hands-on Rust engineer with options trading or financial engineering exposure to join the team. Parts of our OTC derivatives stack are quant-heavy, and some libraries are difficult to change safely without deeper domain knowledge. You will be the person who can work confidently in that code. The role remains primarily engineering, not research.

  • Build, maintain and extend OTC derivatives trading systems in Rust
  • Implement and modify pricing, risk and quoting logic designed by our quant and research teams, translating models into reliable production code
  • Take ownership of quant-heavy libraries that are currently hard to change, and make them safer to evolve
  • Work closely with traders to turn requirements into shipped features
  • Own features end to end, from pricing logic through to the trader-facing tools, including some front-end work in Typescript

Requirements Must Have

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a comparable role, with the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong Rust - the primary language for this role
  • Hands-on experience building or supporting options or derivatives systems, such as pricing, risk, quoting or trade booking, at a bank, trading firm or market maker
  • Quantitative grounding: enough to read, understand and implement pricing and risk models (you will not be expected to design or price derivatives from scratch)
  • Experience building production systems in a trading or other high-stakes environment
  • Able to work directly with traders: turn their requests into clear requirements, explain technical trade-offs simply, and keep them informed when something goes wrong

Preferred

  • Experience at an OTC derivatives desk, options market maker, or institutional crypto trading firm
  • Experience with pricing libraries, volatility surfaces, Greeks, or risk systems
  • Experience beyond backend work, such as front-end, internal tooling or data pipelines
  • Startup or small-team experience with end-to-end ownership and a fast delivery pace
  • C++ background - useful where Rust experience is being built

Location

  • Singapore

Person Profile

  • Independent and resourceful
  • Team player and collaborative
  • Curious, humble, always learning
  • Strong maths and analytical skills
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced collaborative environment
  • Professional proficiency in English

Company Culture & Values

  • Take Action & Own the Mission
  • Be of Service & Contribute
  • Innovate, Create Value, & Be Courageous
  • Act with Integrity & Respect

Benefits

  • International environment (English is the main language)
  • Team events and offsites
  • Company Pension scheme
  • Learning and Development budget

Recruitment Process Our process is consistent across all engineering roles and is designed to assess genuine technical depth. Candidates should expect the following stages:

  • Stage 1: First round interview with a member of our Talent Acquisition team (45 mins)
  • Stage 2: Online technical test
  • Stage 3: Engineering interview with the hiring manager - technical experience and software engineering fundamentals
  • Stage 4: On-site Interview
  • Stage 5: Round-Up meeting with Head of Talent Strategy
