OTR Tire Technician

Title: OTR Tire Technician

Description: Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for an OTR Tire Technician to support our Fort McMurray operations.

Responsibilities:

• Service, replacement, and repair OTR tires of all sizes on mining and construction equipment
• Safely operate hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, including jacks, pumps, rad guns, and high-torque tools
• Demonstrate knowledge of tire construction and acceptable wear/repair limits
• Replace, repair, and balance light vehicle tires as required
• Follow proper procedures for eliminating stored energy before removing tires from rims, particularly split-rim configurations (3-piece and 5-piece)
• Use correct tooling and equipment to support both heavy and light vehicles during tire removal
• Adhere to all safe work practices in alignment with industry standards and company policies
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to minimize risks

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience as an OTR Tire Technician
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Valid Class 3 driver’s license preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to work in the Fort McMurray area and live in remote camps on a rotational schedule
• CSO Certification required
• H2S Alive and First Aid certifications are considered assets
• TIA Training is recommended but not required (training can be provided)
• Good physical condition and overall health to safely perform assigned duties
• Must be able to pass a pre-access drug and alcohol test
