Out-Patient Medical Coder

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze medical records for Outpatient (OP), Same Day Surgery (SDS), and Observation (OBS) cases.
• Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes based on provider documentation.
• Ensure compliance with official coding guidelines, payer policies, and HIPAA confidentiality regulations.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in any related Allied Health discipline (Nursing graduate preferred).
• Certification: Certified Medical Coder (CPC, CCS, or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in SDS and/or Observation outpatient coding.
