Outage Coordinator

Ventia is seeking an organised and proactive Outage Co-Ordinator to join our team in Wellington. This is a unique hybrid role that combines outage planning and coordination responsibilities with field-based HV switching support to help facilitate the safe and efficient delivery of network works.

Working closely with operational teams, customers, and field crews, you will play a critical role in coordinating planned outages, ensuring schedules are effectively managed, and supporting the successful execution of maintenance and project activities across the network.

What You'll Be Doing

• Coordinate planned outages to support network maintenance and project delivery.
• Liaise with operational teams, customers, and stakeholders to ensure outage requirements are understood and effectively communicated.
• Prepare, monitor, and maintain outage schedules, documentation, and reporting requirements.
• Support the safe delivery of works through field-based HV switching activities as required.
• Work collaboratively with field crews and network operations teams to minimise disruption and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence across the business.

About You

You will bring strong coordination and stakeholder management skills, along with an interest in supporting both office-based planning functions and field operations.

Ideally, you will have:

• Experience in utilities, electricity distribution, transmission, or a related infrastructure environment.
• High Voltage (HV) switching qualifications and practical switching experience.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• A commitment to health, safety, and operational excellence.
• HV switching qualifications and experience are preferred; however, training can be provided for the right candidate who demonstrates a willingness to learn and develop in this area.
