What they need
About LineNow
LineNow builds modern procurement software to simplify purchasing and supplier coordination. We bring purchase orders, supplier communication, receiving, inventory buying, and accounting handoff into one place.
Restaurants manage purchasing across texts, emails, supplier portals, spreadsheets, phone calls, and manual follow-ups. Missed orders, delayed supplier replies, receiving discrepancies, and changing ingredient costs make it harder to keep kitchens stocked and protect margins.
We move quickly, care about ownership, and are expanding our outbound sales efforts in restaurants and foodservice.
About the Role
We are hiring an Outbound Sales Development Representative (SDR) to build pipeline with independent restaurants, caterers, and small restaurant groups.
This is a hands-on B2B outbound role selling software to restaurant and foodservice businesses. Your job is to identify businesses with real purchasing complexity, reach the people who own that workflow, understand their problems, and book qualified demos with decision-makers. Sales leadership handles product demonstrations, proposals, and closing.
You will work directly with the CEO and sales leadership to refine target segments, buyer roles, and messaging. You will help turn what we learn into a repeatable outbound sales playbook.
Who You’ll Sell To
You will prospect independent restaurants, caterers, and small multi-location restaurant groups. Prioritize businesses with recurring orders across multiple suppliers, multiple people involved in ordering or receiving, manual purchasing coordination, and meaningful delivery or receiving challenges.
Decision-makers may include owners, operators, directors of operations, general managers, chefs, and purchasing managers. You will learn who runs day-to-day purchasing and who can approve a change, ensuring the appropriate decision-maker is involved.
What You’ll Do
- Research accounts, build clean prospect lists, and explain why each segment is a good fit for LineNow.
- Run cold calls, personalized cold emails, targeted LinkedIn outreach, and consistent follow-up, with phone outreach as a core part of your approach.
- Navigate gatekeepers, earn time with busy restaurant owners and operators, handle objections, and agree on clear next steps.
- Ask practical discovery questions about ordering, supplier follow-up, delivery coordination, receiving discrepancies, and the tools used today.
- Identify a concrete problem and its operational impact before recommending a demo.
- Qualify the account’s fit, buyer involvement, urgency, and willingness to explore a better workflow.
- Book qualified demos, confirm attendance, and follow up on missed meetings.
- Capture current workflows, buyer roles, pain points, objections, and next steps in the CRM so sales leadership starts each demo with useful context.
- Test segments, messages, and outreach sequences; use replies, held meetings, and qualification quality to decide what to change.
- Share customer language and market feedback to improve targeting and product positioning.
What Success Looks Like
- Relevant, well-researched accounts and consistent outbound activity.
- Qualified meetings that actually take place with restaurant decision-makers.
- Clear evidence of purchasing pain and useful discovery notes for each handoff.
- Sales-accepted opportunities and pipeline generated from cold outbound.
- Improving conversion from conversations to held demos and qualified opportunities.
We value meeting quality and learning alongside activity and meeting volume.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven outbound sales experience, with a track record of personally generating new business opportunities with restaurant owners and operators.
- Ability to create conversations from cold outreach and explain your past results, distinguishing self-sourced opportunities from inbound leads, referrals, or existing-account activity.
- Comfort making cold calls, handling objections, and following up professionally.
- Strong listening and discovery skills: ask useful follow-up questions and connect operational problems to business impact.
- Good targeting judgment: identify promising accounts and the people who own purchasing decisions.
- Clear, concise writing and a confident, conversational phone presence.
- Organized CRM records, reliable follow-up, and clear sales handoffs.
- Understanding of restaurant operations and the ability to learn a new product quickly.
- Ability to test an approach, read the results, and improve execution.
- Independence, persistence, coachability, and comfort working directly with leadership.
Restaurant operating experience and industry relationships are valuable, but demonstrated outbound prospecting results are essential.
Preferred Experience
- Restaurant technology, POS, hospitality software, or foodservice sales involving new-account acquisition.
- Experience building a territory or generating opportunities beyond an existing network.
- Familiarity with restaurant purchasing, supplier ordering, receiving, inventory, accounting, or back-office tools.
- Experience with a CRM and prospecting tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Instantly, Smartlead, or Clay. You do not need experience with every tool.
Compensation and Initial 90-Day Period
Compensation is $80,000–$100,000 annualized, depending on experience and demonstrated results, prorated for the initial engagement.
This role begins with a paid 90-day trial period to assess performance and mutual fit. Expectations will be agreed at the outset, with a focus on qualified opportunities, attended demos, effective follow-up, and consistent pipeline development. Continued engagement beyond the initial period will be based on results and mutual agreement.
Why Join LineNow
- Help shape how we reach restaurant and foodservice customers.
- Work directly with the CEO and sales leadership.
- Help restaurants simplify purchasing and supplier coordination.
- Grow with LineNow. As the company expands, strong performers will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility, move into sales leadership, and grow their earning potential. This role offers significant long-term upside for someone who consistently delivers results.
- High ownership, autonomy, and clear performance visibility.
How to Apply
Apply with your resume and a short note about your experience generating new business with restaurant owners and operators. In your application, please share:
- The products or services you have sold to restaurants and how you personally generated new business.
- A restaurant segment you would target for LineNow and why its purchasing workflow makes it a good fit.
- A short cold email you would send to a restaurant owner or operator.
- Your past outbound results over a defined month or quarter: activity, meetings booked, meetings held, and qualified opportunities or new accounts generated. Distinguish self-sourced outbound results from inbound leads, referrals, and existing-account activity. Estimates are welcome if clearly labeled; do not share confidential customer information.
As part of the interview, be prepared for a brief cold-call role-play to demonstrate how you open a conversation, ask discovery questions, and handle an objection.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
Application Question(s):
- What products or services have you sold directly to restaurant owners or operators? Describe how you found and won new opportunities, including the outreach methods you personally used. Please distinguish cold outbound prospecting from inbound inquiries, referrals, and managing existing accounts.
- Which restaurant or foodservice segment would you target for LineNow first, and why? Briefly explain the purchasing challenges you would look for, the decision-maker you would contact, and two discovery questions you would ask.
- Write a cold email of no more than 100 words to a restaurant owner or operator introducing LineNow. Focus on one purchasing or receiving problem and a clear next step.
- Describe your outbound sales results over a specific month or quarter: outreach activity, meetings booked, meetings held, and qualified opportunities or new accounts generated. Explain what you personally sourced, distinguish outbound from inbound leads, referrals, and existing-account activity, and describe one change you made to improve results. Clearly label estimates; if a metric was not tracked, say so. Do not include confidential customer information.
