About the role

Scriberunner Philippines Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Outpatient Certified Professional Coder to join our healthcare management team. This is a full-time position based in Binan City, Laguna. As an Outpatient Certified Professional Coder, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and compliant medical coding for outpatient services, directly supporting the financial and operational integrity of our healthcare operations. Your expertise will be instrumental in translating clinical documentation into precise diagnostic and procedural codes, ensuring proper reimbursement and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Review and analyse outpatient medical records, clinical documentation and encounter notes to identify appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes
• Assign accurate ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS codes in compliance with coding guidelines and regulatory requirements
• Ensure coding accuracy and completeness whilst maintaining compliance with HIPAA, CMS regulations and other healthcare coding standards
• Query physicians and clinical staff regarding incomplete or unclear documentation to support accurate code assignment
• Maintain detailed records of coded encounters and generate coding reports for quality assurance and auditing purposes
• Participate in ongoing education and training to remain current with coding updates, regulatory changes and industry best practices
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, billing departments and management to resolve coding discrepancies and improve documentation quality
• Meet established productivity and accuracy standards whilst managing multiple outpatient cases efficiently
• Support compliance audits and assist in identifying and correcting coding errors

What we're looking for

• Current certification as a Professional Coder (AAPC CPC, AHIMA RHIT, or equivalent recognised certification)
• Minimum of 2-3 years of professional coding experience in an outpatient healthcare setting
• Comprehensive knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding systems and guidelines
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements and reimbursement processes
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain high accuracy standards in code assignment
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems and medical coding software
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when querying healthcare providers
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple coding cases whilst meeting productivity targets
• Knowledge of outpatient billing and coding workflows and revenue cycle management is advantageous
• Familiarity with auditing processes and quality assurance protocols in healthcare coding is preferred
