Outpatient Therapist

Join our dynamic mental health team as an Outpatient Therapist, where you will play a vital role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based psychotherapy to diverse populations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to facilitate group and individual therapy sessions, conduct comprehensive mental health assessments, and develop personalized treatment plans that promote healing and resilience. As a key member of our outpatient services, you will utilize your expertise in behavioral health, trauma-focused therapy, and child & youth therapy to support clients on their journey toward mental wellness. Duties

• Lead engaging outpatient individual & group therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and trauma-focused approaches.
• Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations using ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding standards to inform treatment planning.
• Develop individualized care plans aligned with clinical documentation standards, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical ethical guidelines.
• Provide crisis intervention and crisis management for clients experiencing acute mental health episodes or co-occurring disorders.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate case management, patient care, and treatment progress, including intake procedures and medical documentation.
• Utilize EMR/EHR systems for accurate clinical documentation, medical records management, and data collection to monitor treatment outcomes.
• Engage in telehealth therapy sessions to expand access to mental health services across diverse populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, and individuals with disabilities or autism.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; must be licensed or licensed-eligible in the state of Virginia.
• Proven experience in outpatient mental health settings with expertise in group therapy, individual counseling, and behavioral health interventions.
• Strong knowledge of evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), applied behavior analysis (ABA), trauma-focused therapy, and grief counseling.
• Familiarity with ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems for diagnosis documentation; experience with medical terminology and medical records management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage crisis situations effectively while maintaining a calm and professional demeanor.
• Experience working with children, adolescents, adults with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), PTSD care needs, and co-occurring disorders.
• Proficiency in clinical documentation standards, treatment planning, case management strategies, and clinical research methodologies.
• Telehealth experience preferred; knowledge of HIPAA compliance and clinical ethical guidelines essential for delivering remote services safely and securely.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
