Overhead Crane Operator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Crane Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating cranes and other heavy machinery to lift, move, and position materials and equipment safely and efficiently. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate cranes to lift, move, and position loads as per project specifications.
• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure safety and functionality.
• Collaborate with ground crew members to coordinate lifts and ensure safe operations.
• Maintain accurate records of materials handled and movements performed.
• Perform routine maintenance on cranes and report any mechanical issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during operations.
• Assist in the loading and unloading of materials in warehouse settings as needed.
• Engage in materials handling tasks, including digging and building as required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Crane Operator or in a similar role within the construction or manufacturing industry.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
• Familiarity with materials handling processes, warehouse operations, shipping, and receiving.
• Valid crane operator certification or relevant qualifications are preferred.
• Experience operating forklifts is advantageous.
• Commercial driving experience is a plus but not essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment while adhering to safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.
