Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Overnight Assistant Manager to join our retail team and lead our store operations during the night shift. Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all store activities during overnight hours, including opening procedures, closing routines, and shift transitions.
• Manage inventory levels through stock replenishment, stocktaking, and inventory control to ensure product availability and accuracy.
• Oversee cash handling processes, cashiering operations, and POS (Point of Sale) systems to guarantee secure transactions and accurate financial records.
• Lead, motivate, and develop the overnight team by providing training on retail operations, customer service standards, merchandising, and safety protocols.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and operational procedures to maintain a secure environment for staff and customers.
• Conduct employee orientation sessions for new hires and participate in interviewing candidates to build a strong retail sales team.
• Manage purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and merchandising displays to optimize sales performance and store presentation.
• Utilize management skills such as budgeting, payroll processing, bookkeeping, and organizational skills to support store efficiency.
• Handle customer inquiries or concerns with professionalism using excellent communication skills and phone etiquette.
• Monitor store performance metrics related to retail math, sales management, operational management, and inventory management to identify areas for improvement.

Experience

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry with supervisory responsibilities.
• Demonstrated success in managing retail sales teams with strong leadership capabilities in shift management environments.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory control procedures, cash handling protocols, and basic bookkeeping practices.
• Experience in recruiting, interviewing, employee orientation, training & development to build high-performing teams.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively while managing time efficiently during overnight shifts.
• Excellent managerial communication skills combined with bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable for engaging diverse customer bases.
• Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques including pricing strategies, merchandising standards, and promotional activities is preferred.
