Overnight BHT

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Overnight Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) to provide compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, and related conditions. This full-time overnight position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients’ lives by delivering specialized behavioral and medical support in a structured environment. Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist clients during overnight hours, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Performs environmental maintenance duties, including cleaning, sanitizing, and upkeep of facility areas to promote health and safety standards.
• Oversight of self-administration of medications accurately according to prescribed protocols and document medication administration in medical records.
• Conduct vital signs assessments and monitor physical health indicators regularly.
• Respond effectively to behavioral crises or emergencies using crisis intervention strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Collect data on client behaviors, progress, and incidents for ongoing assessment and reporting purposes.
• Support clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, feeding, and mobility assistance.
• Maintain detailed medical documentation while adhering to HIPAA guidelines for confidentiality.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical staff, and special education professionals to coordinate care plans.
• Assist with intake procedures and behavioral health assessments as needed during overnight shifts.

Skills

• Experience working with children or adults with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD, or other behavioral health conditions.
• Strong crisis management skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Knowledge of behavior management techniques and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
• Ability to follow procedures for oversight of self-administration of medications safely and accurately; familiarity with medical terminology is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills for effective documentation and collaboration within healthcare teams.
• Compassionate approach with a focus on patient care and behavioral health support.
• Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to medical records and patient confidentiality.
• Ability to collect accurate data for clinical review and treatment planning purposes.
• Experience in social work or addiction counseling is a plus; familiarity with medical documentation systems is beneficial.
