This vital role offers an energetic environment focused on providing exceptional patient support during overnight shifts, ensuring safety, comfort, and dignity for individuals across a variety of care settings. As a CNA, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care around the clock. Your expertise will help foster a safe and nurturing environment, promoting health and well-being through attentive caregiving and precise medical support.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care during overnight hours, including assistance with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques.
  • Monitor and record vital signs accurately, maintaining detailed medical documentation within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
  • Assist with complex medical procedures including catheter care, medication administration under supervision, and phlebotomy when certified.
  • Support patients with specialized needs such as dementia, Alzheimer's disease, memory care, behavioral health challenges, or developmental disabilities by implementing personalized care plans.
  • Observe and report changes in patient condition promptly to nursing staff, utilizing critical thinking skills gained from experience in ICU, trauma centers, or emergency medicine environments.
  • Maintain aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection and ensure safety in high-acuity settings like Level I Trauma Centers or surgical units.
  • Use EMR/EHR systems proficiently for documentation of patient care activities, medication records, and medical records management.

Experience

  • Prior experience working in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or hospital environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in caring for geriatric patients or those with complex medical needs such as infectious diseases or post-acute care cases.
  • Experience with specialized patient populations including pediatrics (PICU), hospice patients, or individuals with disabilities is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of advanced caregiving techniques such as safe lifting practices with Hoyer lifts and handling heavy lifting scenarios safely.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, vital signs measurement, and basic life support (BLS) certification is required to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
  • Previous exposure to EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks enhances efficiency in documentation and patient record management.
  • Strong communication skills for effective caregiver-patient interactions and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across various healthcare settings.
