Overseas procurement engineer

Responsibilities:

• Manage and coordinate project procurement activities across regional operations, ensuring alignment between procurement, logistics, and supplier quality functions.
• Act as the key point of contact between regional project teams and the global procurement organization for all project procurement matters.
• Synchronize procurement activities with project schedules and develop project-specific sourcing and procurement strategies.
• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) based on project specifications and customer requirements to ensure competitive supplier selection.
• Lead supplier negotiations within the region and collaborate with global commodity managers to align contractual terms, implement sourcing strategies, achieve cost optimization, and support business objectives.
• Review and assess supplier proposals, identify procurement risks, and implement mitigation plans through cross-functional collaboration.
• Develop and execute local sourcing initiatives to strengthen supply chain performance, flexibility, and continuity.
• Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, procedures, and governance standards.
• Support sustainability goals by promoting responsible sourcing and ethical supply chain practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, or project management.
• Experience working in project-based environments, preferably within engineering, automation, logistics, or baggage handling industries.
• Proven ability to work effectively in international and cross-cultural environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities with a practical, hands-on mindset.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in procurement systems and data analysis tools, including SAP, Microsoft Excel, and related applications.
• Interest in leveraging digital tools and automation to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to establish credibility across stakeholder groups.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to achieving objectives.
• Demonstrated ability to take ownership, drive continuous improvement, and challenge existing processes.
• Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
