Job Summary
The Owner Operator Driver is responsible for transporting freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role requires a commitment to high standards of customer service while ensuring compliance with all transportation regulations. As an independent contractor, the Owner Operator Driver will manage their own vehicle and operations, providing flexibility and autonomy in their work.

Duties

• Operate a tractor-trailer or flatbed truck to transport goods to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Manage route planning to optimize delivery schedules and minimize delays.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and mileage driven.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery status and any issues that arise.
• Ensure proper handling of freight, including loading and unloading as necessary, particularly with refrigerated trailers when applicable.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations governing commercial driving.

Skills

• Proficient in driving manual transmission vehicles.
• Experience as a delivery driver with a strong understanding of route driving principles.
• Knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety practices.
• Familiarity with operating flatbed trucks and refrigerated trailers is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges during transport.
• Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members.
• Ability to manage time efficiently to meet delivery deadlines while ensuring safety standards are met.
