Oxy Propane Cutter

Job Summary

General Hours of Work are Monday to Friday 07.30am to 16.00pm, occasional requirement to work overtime including weekends to meet operational needs. Reporting to the site Supervisor and with direct input from the customer listed below are the main duties of the role.

Operational

· Flame cutting Titanium alloy slabs to approved lengths, palletise, weigh and record data.

· Flame cutting Titanium sheets to approved section sizes, palletise, weigh and record data.

· Flame cutting Titanium bars to approved sizes, palletise, weigh and record data.

· Flame cutting Titanium billets to remove sharp edges, palletise, weigh and record data.

· Collect and return stillages to production.

· Routinely washdown the burning yard to remove Titanium dust.

· Collect all cutting debris and place into the waste skip located in the yard.

· Following all site Environmental controls, hygiene requirements, and standards of housekeeping.

· Secure all used and unused gas bottles in the secured areas provided.

Experience

• Practical experience in metal cutting, fabrication or a similar workshop role is useful.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, sheet metal and mechanical work is desirable.
• TIG welding and stick welding skills are welcome, but are not essential.
• Basic maths, attention to detail and a safety-conscious approach are important.

Health and safety, Environment, and Quality

· Follow all training and instructions. Conform to HSEQ rules and PPE requirements. Report any concerns.

· Visually Inspect all tools and equipment before use for damage and report defects.

· Monitor all consumable stocks, like cleaning solutions, disposables, and waste bags. Report re-ordering needs.

· Comply with the Customer’s site rules, including safety rules and the hygiene requirements for area entry.

· Remove any non-essential tools and items from the area. Ensure safe and secure storage to prevent loss.

· Ensure all cleaning equipment and portable equipment items are stored safely and securely to prevent loss.

· Adopt the FWM work principles of “Clean as you go” and “everything has a place - everything in its place”.

· Monitor the evolution of the job over time and report changes to the HSEQ manager for Risk Assessment review.

· Ensure that all paper forms and records are completed legibly, protected from damage, and are safely retained.

Housekeeping

· Regularly and effectively clean the allocated work areas to prevent waste build-up. Remove waste.

· Monitor the housekeeping levels of the work areas and proactively address issues identified.

· Dynamically maintain the minimum standard of cleanliness required as shown on the 5S standard example sheet.

· Dispose of all waste of in the correct bins and waste streams using the equipment provided.

· Reduce the build-up of external waste outside the areas of the work department.

· Dispose of all waste received in a responsible and sustainable way, using the equipment and skips provided.

Additionally, you may be asked to undertake functions that management may deem reasonable for the role that do not need to be expressed in the Role profile or Contract of Employment.

Pay: From £37,500.00 per year
