PAC Operator

Job Description – Precision Air Conditioning Operator Position: Precision Air Conditioning Operator (PAC) Department: Facility Service Experience: 2–5 years Qualification: ITI / Diploma in HVAC / Mechanical / Electrical (or equivalent) Role Overview We are seeking a skilled and responsible Precision Air Conditioning (PAC) Operator to manage, monitor, and maintain cooling systems in a data center environment. The role is critical to ensuring optimal temperature and humidity levels for uninterrupted data center operations. The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of PAC systems and the ability to respond promptly to system alerts and environmental changes. Key Responsibilities 1. System Operation & Maintenance ● Operate and maintain Precision Air Conditioning (PAC) systems to ensure continuous 24/7 cooling. ● Perform routine preventive maintenance activities as per standard operating procedures. ● Inspect PAC units, air flow systems, filters, and control panels regularly. 2. Monitoring & Control ● Continuously monitor temperature, humidity, and airflow through sensors and monitoring systems. ● Respond immediately to alarms, deviations, or abnormal operating conditions. ● Adjust cooling parameters as required to maintain data center standards. 3. Troubleshooting & Incident Response ● Diagnose faults and perform first-level troubleshooting of PAC systems. ● Coordinate with vendors or senior engineers for breakdowns and major repairs. ● Ensure minimal downtime by taking timely corrective actions. 4. Documentation & Reporting ● Maintain shift logs, maintenance records, and incident reports. ● Record temperature and humidity readings at regular intervals. ● Report issues, actions taken, and system status to supervisors. 5. Safety & Compliance ● Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures. ● Ensure compliance with data center environmental standards and company policies. ● Maintain cleanliness and order around PAC equipment areas. Required Skills & Competencies ● Strong knowledge of Precision Air Conditioning / HVAC systems ● Understanding of data center cooling requirements ● Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and control parameters ● Quick response and problem-solving skills ● Willingness to work in shift rotations (24/7 operations) ● Basic computer skills for monitoring and reporting
