Package Handler

Duties

• Load and unload shipments using material handling equipment such as forklifts and RF scanners to ensure safe and accurate movement of goods
• Sort packages by destination using automatic inserting machines and manual methods, maintaining high accuracy standards
• Operate warehouse equipment including forklifts and other material handling tools to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of items
• Perform data entry tasks related to shipment tracking, inventory updates, and mail distribution using Microsoft Office applications
• Conduct routine inspection of packages for damage or discrepancies, ensuring quality control before dispatch
• Assist with mail processing and distribution tasks, including filing and organizing shipping documents for easy retrieval
• Support outdoor work activities such as yard checks, fence inspections, and yard audits when necessary

Qualifications

• Previous warehouse experience or familiarity with warehouse operations is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Experience operating material handling equipment such as forklifts is highly desirable; certification is a plus
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate shipment sorting and data entry
• Basic math skills necessary for inventory counts, measurements, and package calculations
• Customer service mindset with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions; outdoor work experience is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel) for documentation purposes
• Ability to follow safety protocols diligently during manual handling and equipment operation

Pay: $20.20 - $24.10 per hour
