Packaging Assistant

Job Overview

J & J Meat Warehouse Inc. is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Assistant to support daily packaging, product preparation, and warehouse operations. This position involves preparing products for packaging, checking quantities, labeling packages, organizing materials, and helping maintain an efficient and clean work environment.

This is an entry-level opportunity, and previous packaging or warehouse experience is not required. Training will be provided. The ideal candidate is dependable, attentive to detail, and comfortable performing hands-on work in a warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meat products and orders for packaging according to established procedures
• Place products into appropriate packaging and containers
• Check product quantities, labels, and order information for accuracy
• Apply labels and package identification information
• Seal and organize completed packages for storage or shipment
• Inspect packaging for damage, leaks, or other issues
• Sort and stage finished orders in designated areas
• Assist with organizing packaging materials and supplies
• Help maintain accurate product and packaging records
• Assist with receiving and organizing incoming supplies
• Report damaged products, missing items, or order discrepancies
• Keep packaging stations and work areas clean and organized
• Follow food-handling, workplace safety, and sanitation procedures
• Work with team members to complete daily packaging and fulfillment tasks
• Assist with loading and staging products when needed
• Perform other packaging and warehouse duties as assigned

Requirements

• Previous packaging or warehouse experience is not required
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures
• Good organizational skills
• Reliable and punctual
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to learn company procedures
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift packages or materials during the workday
• Ability to follow sanitation and safety requirements

Pay: $22.30 - $23.30 per hour
