Duties

Job Summary

Responsible for the design, development, and processing of implant and instrument packaging under the direction of a project leader or manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Designing for manufacturability, inspectibility, and optimum cost.
• Generating prototype models to evaluate new design concepts.
• Coordinating product evaluation with surgeons.
• Generating comprehensive protocols for testing/analyzing the product.
• Generating design assurance documentation for the project.

Skills

Expected Areas of Competence

• Familiarity with drafting standards and geometric differences and tolerances.
• Active participation in development meetings with surgeons and key internal personnel.
• Ability to effectively work within a team to expedite completion of critical project tasks with other functional groups.
• Helping to identify customer requirements for a new product.
• Establishing a process method which meets performance and quality requirements.

Education/Experience Requirements

• B.S. in Packaging Science or Engineering required.
• 1-3 years of experience required.

Travel Requirements

• Up to 10%.
