We're looking for a mechanically inclined, hands-on Packaging Line Lead to help drive the performance of our packaging operation.

Position Overview

The Packaging Line Lead is a working leadership position responsible for keeping a four-person packaging line operating efficiently, consistently, and safely throughout an eight-hour production shift.

Previous hands-on experience operating flow-wrap packaging machines is required for this position.

The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical aptitude, practical flow-wrap equipment experience, and the people skills necessary to lead a small production team.

This is not a desk job. We're looking for someone who enjoys working alongside their team, solving problems in real time, and taking ownership of daily production results.

Key ResponsibilitiesPackaging Equipment Operation & Troubleshooting

• Operate, set up, adjust, and troubleshoot flow-wrap packaging machines.
• Perform product changeovers and machine adjustments to maintain consistent production.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues to minimize downtime.
• Identify potential equipment problems before they cause extended interruptions.
• Maintain safe and efficient equipment operation.

Team Leadership

• Lead a packaging crew of approximately four employees while actively participating in production.
• Keep team members engaged, productive, and focused on daily production goals.
• Assign tasks and adjust workflow to maintain consistent line performance.
• Train and coach employees on equipment operation, quality standards, and efficiency.
• Lead by example through dependability, accountability, and teamwork.

Production Performance & Quality

• Maintain consistent production output throughout the shift.
• Monitor production rates and make adjustments to meet daily targets.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement practical solutions.
• Ensure finished products meet Stringjoy's quality standards.
• Communicate equipment issues, material shortages, and production concerns to management.
• Accurately track production output and downtime.

Required Qualifications

• Candidates must have previous hands-on experience operating flow-wrap or form fill and seal packaging machines.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to adjust and troubleshoot production equipment.
• Experience leading, training, or coordinating a small production crew.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain consistent production performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Willingness to work directly on the production line throughout the shift.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Packaging Line Lead, Machine Operator Lead, or Production Team Lead.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance and mechanical changeovers.
• Familiarity with production tracking, efficiency metrics, and downtime reduction.
• Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement.
