Packaging Line Maintenance Technician

Role Overview

SMK Global is seeking a cGMP Maintenance Mechanic to provide technical support, preventive maintenance, and line setup for process and packaging equipment at our dietary supplement facility. This role ensures smooth daily production operations while maintaining strict compliance with FDA cGMP standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance & Changeovers: Perform routine preventive maintenance, rapid equipment setups, and line changeovers for processing and high-speed packaging equipment.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical issues on production lines; elevate complex engineering issues to the Plant Engineer.
• cGMP Compliance: Follow all cGMP SOPs, maintain accurate maintenance logs, and support safety and quality investigation standard operating procedures.
• Utilities Support: Provide routine maintenance support for plant utility systems (compressed air, purified water, HVAC, and environmental chambers).
• Vendor & Safety Coordination: Work with external service providers for facility equipment upkeep and participate in facility safety mitigation efforts.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Vocational/Trade Certification or Associate Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Technology preferred.
• Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a cGMP environment (dietary supplements, food, or pharmaceutical manufacturing).
• Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills; ability to read P&IDs, equipment schematics, and line set-up specifications.
• Systems: Experience with SAP or computer maintenance management systems (CMMS) is a plus.

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
