What they need

We are a contract beverage production business, manufacturing across a wide range of categories: spirits, liqueurs, RTDs, non-alcoholic drinks, and prebatch cocktails, for multiple clients, in a variety of pack formats including bottles, cans and kegs.

The Packaging Line Supervisor is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant day-to-day running of packaging line operations. The role oversees line running across bottling, canning, or kegging. This is most likely to be bottling. The role coordinates labour and resources, supporting machinery readiness, and ensuring production targets are met in line with company procedures and compliance standards.

Blending delivers finished liquid to the packaging lines already formulated and in specification; this role focuses on running the line itself, not formulation.

The role works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Blending teams to maintain performance, product quality, safety standards, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Line Operation & Team Leadership

  • Execute daily production plans across bottling, canning, or kegging lines in line with operational priorities
  • Coordinate labour deployment; supervise, motivate and support a team of approximately 4-11 production operatives and agency staff, depending on the line
  • Carry out line setup, changeovers, and production readiness activities
  • Monitor production performance and escalate operational issues where necessary
  • Carry out pre- and post-production machinery checks and CIP processes
  • Perform basic first-fix activities to minimise downtime and maintain production flow
  • Support scheduling of routine maintenance around production requirements

Quality, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with company quality, food safety, health & safety, and operational procedures in line with BRC and HACCP
  • Maintain accurate production, traceability and labour records, and complete all required production paperwork and system updates in a timely manner
  • Ensure all team members follow PPE, GMP, health & safety, and company procedures
  • Support audits, inspections, and corrective action activities
  • Report and record non-conformances in accordance with company procedures

Team Development

  • Support induction and training of new employees
  • Identify development opportunities and provide coaching where required
  • Promote a positive team culture focused on accountability, quality, and safety

Engineering & Continuous Improvement

  • Work collaboratively with Engineering to communicate production priorities and maintenance requirements
  • Support efficiency improvements, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain good housekeeping and operational standards across the production area

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • Experience supervising or leading a team within a production or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in at least one of bottling, canning, or kegging is essential; training will be provided in other formats if unfamiliar
  • Understanding of production line operations and machinery
  • Ability to carry out basic machine troubleshooting and first-line fixes
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and production documentation systems
  • Knowledge of compliance, quality, and health & safety procedures within manufacturing
