At Westons Cider, we’ve been making premium, award-winning cider in the Herefordshire village of Much Marcle since 1880.

We’re proud of our heritage, but we’re always looking ahead. We’re now looking for an experienced Packaging Manager to join our team and play a key role in developing our packaging operation, our people and our future packaging strategy.

The opportunity

As Packaging Manager, you’ll take ownership of our packaging operation, leading our teams and ensuring our production plans are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the highest quality standards.

You’ll be a visible and hands-on leader, balancing Safety, Quality, Delivery and

Cost, while creating a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced FMCG packaging professional who enjoys making things better — whether that’s improving performance, developing people, solving problems or introducing more effective ways of working.

What you’ll be responsible for

• Lead and manage all packaging lines and areas on a day-to-day basis.
• Deliver the production schedule on time and in full.
• Ensure safety, quality, delivery and cost remain at the heart of everything we do.
• Lead, coach and develop the packaging team, building capability and confidence across the operation.
• Ensure team members have the skills and training needed to operate equipment safely and effectively.
• Drive continuous improvement across packaging processes, performance and ways of working.
• Support the development and implementation of our packaging strategy.
• Promote a positive, collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Ensure packaging activities consistently meet food safety, quality and operational standards.

What you’ll bring

You’ll be an experienced people manager with a background in FMCG packaging, food manufacturing or a similar production environment.

We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Proven experience managing a team within an FMCG packaging environment.
• Strong people leadership and development skills.
• A track record of delivering continuous improvement.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment and manage competing priorities.
• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
• Level 3 HACCP qualification.
• Level 3 Food Safety qualification.
• IOSH training.

Desirable: NEBOSH General Certificate.
