Packaging Manager

POSITION SUMMARY

The Packaging Manager is responsible for leading and managing all packaging, labeling, portioning, organization, and quality-control activities for Gather’d Market’s prepared foods and meal products.

This position ensures that food produced by the kitchen is transformed into a consistent, attractive, correctly portioned, properly labeled, safe, and customer-ready product.

The Packaging Manager serves as the critical connection between kitchen production, inventory, merchandising, and the customer experience. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, food-safety awareness, leadership, and the ability to maintain standards in a fast-paced production environment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of experience in food production, restaurant, commissary, catering, meal-prep, grocery, or similar food-service operations.
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to accurately measure and portion food.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work quickly while maintaining accuracy.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
• Ability to lift and move food products and supplies as required.
• Comfortable working in a refrigerated food-production environment.
• Ability to train and lead team members.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Strong communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with prepared foods, meal kits, grab-and-go products, or commissary production.
• ServSafe certification or equivalent food-safety training.
• Experience with production management systems.
• Experience with labeling/date coding systems.
• Experience managing high-volume packaging operations.
• Experience with inventory control and food-cost awareness.

Every package is the final expression of the work done by the kitchen. The Packaging Manager is responsible for making sure that work reaches the customer with the same quality, care, and intention with which it was produced.

This role would fit particularly well into the Gather’d Kitchen Operating System as the owner of the “Production → Finished Product” stage, with the Production Lead owning the preceding “Raw Ingredients → Finished Components” stage.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
