What You’ll Do

As a Packaging Structure and Process Engineer , you’ll be part of our Global Tools & Storage team located in Vietnam Singapore Industrial Park 1, No. 35, Independent Avenue, Binh Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Your working hours will be 5 days/48 hours/week.

You are a highly motivated, creative manufacturing problem solver. Continuous improvement is engrained in the culture at Stanley Black & Decker, and you will help us accelerate the transformation of our facility’s value chain to deliver best-in-class products to our customers at a best-in-class fill rate.

You’ll get to:

A. Packaging structure engineering (50%)

1. Design the packaging structure:

• Design suitable packaging according to product characteristics, transportation and storage requirements.
• Use software to create packaging design drawings.
• Packaging materials are selected and tested to ensure they meet product protection and cost effectiveness requirements.
• Design/create packaging die lines as required.
• Design suitable packaging according to product characteristics, transportation and storage requirements

2. Maintain BOM/ packaging CN

• Create the PN# and BOMs
• Maintain BOMs/drawings to ensure that the specifications and qty of all packaging materials are corrected.
• Manage a database of packaging information by SKUs (matching SAP C11 and E03)

B. Packaging Process Engineering (45%)

1. Packaging processes owner

• Packaging process owner, standardizing processes with SOPs, WIs, packaging line-balancing
• Analyze designation, methods, and internal packaging manufacturing processes.
• Support the development of strategies and initiatives for operational efficiency.
• Ensure standardization across product lines (platforming and standardization)
• Drive quality, automation & labor efficiency improvements for packaging lines
• Support critical productivity projects related to packaging in the facilities
• Work with SCM on packaging material localization.

2. Problem solving and continuous improvement:

• Solve packaging problems in the production process
• Provide technical support and solutions to improve packaging efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-function team to optimize packaging.
• Identify, recommend, and implement process improvements and changes in product design and manufacturing methods (including continuous improvement initiatives).
• Assist packaging production management as directed to resolve production problems and provide regular progress reports on projects to the management team

C. Other tasks (5%)

• Assigns by direct superior.

Education :

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or engineering related discipline

Experiences :

• Minimum 3 years as the same position in manufacturing environment
• Experience in automation/ industrial manufacturing industries is highly preferred
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP System is preferred
• Experience in project management

Skills / Personalities:

• Proficient in AutoCAD for packaging design and development.
• Knowledgeable in a variety of packaging materials, including corrugated cardboard and plastics, with a clear understanding of their properties and applications.
• Familiar with packaging standards and Bill of Materials (BOM) creation.
• Possesses intermediate to advanced English proficiency, particularly in reading and writing.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Exhibits strong problem-solving capabilities and the ability to implement effective, timely solutions.
• Experienced in project management, particularly in new product development (NPD) and new product introduction (NPI) transfer processes.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates well across cross-functional teams and with multiple stakeholders.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, proactive, and results oriented.
• Demonstrates a strong sense of responsibility, integrity, and commitment to the Code of Conduct.

Other requirements :

• Good command in English (4 skills), Able to speak Chinese (intermediate level)
