Packhouse Dispatch Assistant

About the role

The primary responsibility of the Dispatch Assistant is to ensure the safe, accurate, timely and efficient delivery of all orders while facilitating and supporting drivers as they perform their duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide accurate and efficient record keeping for all delivery orders
• Complete administrative duties as required
• Answer phones and respond to customer requests
• Communicate with the packing team regarding order preparation and inventory issues
• Communicate with other departments as required regarding orders for delivery, pick up and transfer
• Assist with accurately completing and documenting quality checks as per product specifications and customer requirements
• Communicate issues relating to quality immediately to the Packing Centre Manager
• Strapping completed pallets
• Maintain chiller/stock cleanliness standards
• Ensure rotation of stock in line with market requirements

About you

• Ability to provide excellent customer service
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Competent with maths, problem solving and organisational skills
• Be a fast learner and have the ability to perform multiple tasks at once
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to learn the delivery areas and assist with coordinating drivers deliveries
• Be computer proficient
• Strong team player but still able to work independently with minimal supervision
