Packhouse / Processing Supervisor

Responsibilities:

· Implement and maintain strict food safety standards, enforce proper hygiene practices, and ensure all team members understand and follow food safety protocols in all aspects of food handling and storage.

· Demonstrate a positive food safety culture and follow company standards.

· Monitor the quality of finished goods being mixed and packed conducting routine visual checks of daily activities, record the findings and report nonconformities to managerial or technical team.

· Oversee weekly plan to completion, assign daily tasks to team members, balancing workloads, adjusting assignments and equipment as needed to optimize efficiency and productivity.

· Ensure equipment is in working order, regularly cleaned, and stored properly, perform preventative service as per maintenance plan and report signs of tear or out of service to managerial team.

· Provide direction to food handlers, including induction and practical training, monitoring performance, and addressing job execution issues.

· Enforce H&S practices and conduct regular inspections and audits to maintain a clean, organized, and compliant food handling area. Document findings and implement corrective actions as necessary.

· Ensure HACCP process flow is adhered to and report hazards, procedural alterations to HACCP team.

· Follow up on GMP audits and other audits, analyse trends and introduce corrective actions on non-conformities related to product handling processes.

· Serve as key link between shop floor staff and managerial team, ensuring effective communication, alignment on goals and smooth operations through accurate relay of information and feedback.

· Responsible of the Critical Control Point on the line: Set up, operate, and perform relevant checks on metal detector to ensure all pouches produced are metal detected prior release when leading packing team.

· Support operation team in the development of new systems to enhance efficiency across operation team and reduce waste, updating relevant SOP’s as necessary.

· Support the team when required being able to cover senior or packhouse operator positions.

Pay: £30,000.00 per year
