Packing and Shipping Specialist

Job Summary

We're hiring a packing and shipping specialist to get customer orders packed and out the door each day. You'll pull items from the shelves and pack each order with the right padding and label before the carrier arrives. Orders tend to pile up after lunch, and the pickup time stays the same no matter how many cartons are still open on the table. It's physical work. You'll walk a lot and lift boxes through the shift, so comfortable shoes help. Someone on the floor will show you the scanner and label printer on your first day.

Responsibilities

• Pulling items off the shelves for each order.
• Pack items snugly with tape and padding so nothing shifts or breaks in transit.
• Shipping labels, printed and stuck on straight.
• Check each box against the packing slip before sealing it, and tell a lead if the count is off so the mistake gets fixed before the truck shows up, not after a customer calls.
• Restocking boxes, tape, and bubble wrap as they run low.
• Sweeping the packing area at the end of the shift.
• Sometimes helping unload deliveries.

Qualifications

• Showing up on time for your scheduled shifts matters, since the carrier pickup doesn't move.
• You catch small things like a wrong size or a smudged label, even when the afternoon gets hectic.
• When orders stack up, taking them one at a time and keeping an eye on the clock is what gets the truck loaded.
• Being comfortable with a computer generally means scanning a barcode or typing in a tracking number, and that's about all we ask.
• Coworkers cover for each other during rushes, so being a team player counts for a lot.
• Staying calm when things get busy makes the whole shift run better.
• You're willing to learn our system and ask questions when you're unsure.

Pay: $25.60 - $30.82 per hour

Expected hours: 33.0 – 67.0 per week
