Packing Operative

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Packing Operative to join our egg packing team. In this role, you will be responsible for packing, preparing, and organising eggs for dispatch, delivery, and collection while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and accuracy. You will play an important part in ensuring smooth warehouse and production operations, including operating pallet trucks, handling products safely, carrying out manual lifting tasks, resolving minor machine issues, and supporting the packing line.

Responsibilities

• Carefully pack eggs according to company procedures, ensuring products are protected and meet quality standards.
• Conduct quality control checks to identify damaged eggs, packaging defects, or other issues before dispatch.
• Operate pallet trucks and other approved equipment to move stock and materials safely around the packing area.
• Load and unload goods while following health and safety procedures.
• Monitor packing machinery and carry out basic troubleshooting to resolve minor operational issues and minimise downtime.
• Supply and stack packaging materials onto production lines to maintain efficient operations.
• Restock packaging and consumable materials as required throughout the shift.
• Support the packing line by placing eggs into boxes and trays accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times.
• Follow company procedures, food safety requirements, and health and safety regulations.
• Assist colleagues and supervisors with other warehouse and production duties as required.

A standard working day is 8am-5pm, however hours may range from 7:30am and 6:00pm.

Availability on one off Saturdays would be useful.

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 – 45.0 per week
