Paint Sales Associate

Duties

• Customer Consultation & Advice: Greet customers, answer technical questions, and recommend specific paint types, stains, finishes, and application tools (e.g., brushes, rollers, primers) tailored to the project surface.
• Paint Mixing & Color Matching: Utilize specialized spectrophotometers to scan color samples for matching, and operate automatic or manual tinting machines to mix paint precisely to customer specifications.
• Suggestive Selling: Increase order values by identifying and recommending essential project add-ons like painter's tape, drop cloths, sandpaper, and trays.
• Inventory & Department Maintenance: Offloading and Stocking heavy paint cans, front and face merchandise on shelves, clean tinting equipment and tools, and ensure a safe, organized, and clean sales floor.
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for accurate cash handling and transaction processing while maintaining organized stock displays and merchandising standards.

Skills

• Proven experience in outside sales, retail sales, with a focus on high-end or specialty products
• Technical proficiency
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships
• Multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases
• Exceptional communication skills for client consultation, product explanation, and team collaboration
• Organizational skills to manage stock levels, merchandising displays, and counter

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
