Painter and Body Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Painter and Body Technician to join our dynamic automotive team. In this role, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their original condition through expert body repair, painting, and finishing techniques. Your expertise in automotive structural repair, sheet metal work, and cosmetic refinishing will ensure our customers receive top-quality service. Responsibilities

• Perform automotive body repairs including dent removal, sheet metal work, and structural realignment using MIG welding, soldering, and fabrication repair techniques
• Prepare surfaces through sanding, grinding, and masking to ensure smooth finishes for painting and refinishing
• Apply auto paint using airless paint spraying equipment and perform automotive cosmetic repairs with precision
• Conduct auto glass installation, automotive parts replacement, and assembly tasks as needed during repairs
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication tools to complete repairs efficiently and accurately
• Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and quality expectations by inspecting work thoroughly before vehicle delivery
• Maintain detailed records of repair processes, parts used, and customer specifications for accurate auto estimating

Requirements

• Proven experience working as an automotive body technician or auto painter with dealership or collision center background preferred
• Strong knowledge of automotive structural repair, auto body repair, auto restoration, and sheet metal fabrication techniques
• Proficiency in MIG welding, welding repair, soldering, and automotive welding equipment operation
• Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems including auto parts installation and vehicle maintenance procedures
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, sanding tools, and automotive cosmetic repair equipment
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly about repair processes and timelines
• Valid experience with auto estimating software is a plus; familiarity with auto painting processes is essential
• Commitment to safety standards and quality craftsmanship in all aspects of vehicle repair

Pay: $25.12 - $37.00 per hour
