Painter and Decorator

Job Summary

We’re looking for an experienced painter and decorator to join our team delivering high-quality works relating to new fit-out works within Ayrshire.

Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Apply paints and decorative finishes using brushes, rollers, sprayers, or other tools with precision and care. Mainly to new plasterboard, mdf and timber.
• Interpret project specifications and work from drawings or instructions to achieve desired results.
• Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of waste responsibly.
• Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate schedules and clarify project requirements.
• Follow health and safety protocols diligently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with construction regulations.
• Inspect completed work for quality assurance, making touch-ups or corrections as needed.

Requirements - Essential

• Proven experience in construction painting and decorating.
• Strong communication skills in English to understand instructions and liaise with team members effectively.
• Knowledge of various painting techniques, surface preparation methods, and decorative finishes.
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, climb ladders and perform manual tasks efficiently.
• Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and the importance of adhering to health regulations.
• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Painting & Decorating
• Must hold a valid CSCS card (blue or above)

Pay: From £14.50 per hour
