Painter and Decorator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our busy team.

All our work is on high value residential properties in Essex. You will be joining a friendly team of 8. To maintain the high standards and precision work we are recommended for it would be beneficial if you already spray or are keen to learn to spray ceilings and woodwork.

Preference is for a non smoker Due to the high value homes that we spend time in.

I will require at least two references to confirm that you are a trustworthy and reliable candidate.

The ideal candidate will have experience in painting, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, ensuring high standards of quality and professionalism across all tasks undertaken.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion.
• Apply paints, varnishes, and other decorative finishes to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces with precision and attention to detail.
• Use specialised tools such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding safely and effectively.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
• Communicate effectively with clients and team members to understand project requirements and provide updates on progress.
• Maintain a clean work environment by organising tools and disposing of waste responsibly.
• Assist with colour matching and selecting appropriate materials for each project as needed.

Experience

• Proven experience in painting or decorating is essential.
• Already owning a dustless sanding set up is a big positive as is experie of spraying with an airless set up or at least a desire to learn
• A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation between sites.
• Familiarity with different types of paints, finishes, and decorating techniques is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills in English are required to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
