Painter and Decorator

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and attention to detail. This role offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, from residential to commercial properties, contributing to the aesthetic and protective qualities of buildings. A valid driving licence and good communication skills are essential for this position.

Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections before painting or decorating
• Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
• Assist in selecting appropriate colours and finishes in consultation with clients or project managers
• Maintain a clean and organised workspace during and after completion of projects
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on larger projects to ensure timely completion
• Inspect completed work for quality assurance and rectify any defects or touch-ups needed

Skills

• Proven experience in construction painting and decorating techniques
• Strong understanding of colour schemes, textures, and finishing methods
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
• Ability to operate relevant tools and equipment safely and efficiently
• Valid driving licence is preferred for travelling between sites
• Fluency in English is essential for understanding instructions and health & safety procedures
• Good organisational skills with an eye for detail to deliver precise results
