Painter

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter to join our dynamic construction and renovation team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming spaces through expert application of paint, coatings, and finishes across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Your craftsmanship will enhance the aesthetic appeal and durability of various surfaces, ensuring high-quality results that meet safety standards and client expectations. Duties

• Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paint and coatings
• Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless and conventional spray equipment), and other hand or power tools
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and color schemes to accurately execute project specifications
• Conduct surface preparation for construction painting including drywall finishing, plastering, caulking, masonry work, stucco application, and concrete finishing
• Perform structural painting tasks on steel frameworks or other structural elements to enhance durability and appearance
• Follow safety regulations diligently by using appropriate respiratory protection, harnesses when working at heights with ladders or scaffolding, and adhering to all safety protocols on-site
• Assist with renovation projects by interpreting schematics and performing fixture installation or carpentry tasks such as trim carpentry or frame work
• Utilize hand tools (e.g., putty knives, scrapers), power tools (e.g., drills, sanders), and specialized equipment like paint sprayers for efficient application
• Maintain a clean work environment by managing waste materials responsibly and ensuring all tools are properly stored after use
• Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction painting including residential, commercial, or industrial projects with a strong understanding of surface preparation techniques
• Knowledge of color theory to achieve desired visual effects and accurate color matching through visual comparison techniques
• Ability to interpret technical drawings such as schematics or blueprints for precise application of paint and coatings
• Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (airless and conventional), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding/ladders safely and effectively
• Familiarity with construction estimating processes for material needs and project planning purposes
• Experience with various surface types including drywall, plastering surfaces, masonry structures like stucco or brickwork
• Understanding of safety regulations specific to construction sites including respiratory protection protocols and fall prevention measures
• Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to surface area or coating quantities
• Additional skills in carpentry (trim or frame), drywall installation/repair, caulking techniques, fixture installation or masonry are advantageous
• Construction site experience with the ability to read blueprints or schematics accurately is highly valued

Pay: $24.66 - $29.70 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 8.0 per week
