Painter/Decorator

John G Baird is seeking an experienced and reliable Maintenance Painter to join our team working across Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire and Moray. This is a varied role suited to a skilled all-rounder who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

The successful candidate will carry out a range of maintenance, painting and plastering works within occupied and void properties while representing the company in a professional manner at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out internal and external painting and decorating works
• Complete plastering and surface preparation works to a high standard
• Undertake general maintenance and repair tasks as required
• Measure up jobs accurately for pricing and material requirements
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, cleanliness and safety on site
• Liaise professionally with customers, tenants and colleagues
• Work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
• Ensure all work is completed within agreed timescales

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in painting, decorating and plastering
• Good all-round maintenance skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Ability to measure and assess jobs for quotations/pricing
• Strong communication and customer care skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and manage workload effectively
• Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well within a team environment

Desirable Skills

• Experience working within domestic maintenance environments
• Knowledge of health & safety procedures
• Additional trade skills would be advantageous
