Painter/Sprayer

Position: Full Time Painter/Sprayer

The Company

Due to continued growth we are looking for a n experienced painter to strengthen our team and help us achieve our goals for expansion as one of the UK’s leading Cold Store specialists.

We are a family run company situated on the North East coast of Yorkshire with years of experience in the Cold Store and Refrigeration industry. We build, repair and maintain Cold Stores across the country and at our own premises.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced painter/sprayer to assist with the manufacture and refurbishment of portable cold stores. The right candidate will be familiar within a commercial workshop environment and have good knowledge of various painting techniques and applications. Leading the finishing area, you will be responsible for the preparation and painting steel frames, GRP bodies and refurbished machinery/plant. Your role will be critical in ensuring that our products meet our quality and safety standards, whilst also working to strict deadlines. You must provide an excellent work ethic and high level of workmanship along with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Duties

• Preparation and painting of steel framework and base frames
• Preparation and painting of portable cold stores
• Sanding, rubbing and masking up
• Cleaning down airless pump unit
• Manual handling and heavy lifting where required
• Maintaining a clean environment to work in and abiding by all Health and Safety Regulations outlined with the company policy
• Be able to use a wide variety of hand/power tools and industrial machinery to a safe standard (Training will be provided)
• Working to strict deadlines and time frames
• Maintain cleanliness of all production areas

Requirements

• Proficient in the use of an airless pump and application is compulsory
• Knowledge of 2K systems is essential
• Familiar with single pack polyurethane product and application
• Strong attention to detail
• Possess a strong work ethic
• Ability to meet targets on a daily basis
• Some refurbishment/fabrication background advantageous
• The ability to learn and progress
• Initiative to work solely or as part of a team
• Current driving licence advantageous
• Self motivated and punctual

Salary

Wage to be discussed dependant on age and relevant experience for the right candidate.
