Painting Subcontractor Supervisor

Position Summary

The Painting Subcontractor Supervisor is an independent subcontractor responsible for providing painting services, recruiting and managing their own painting team, and ensuring all assigned work meets the company's quality standards and contractual requirements.

The supervisor will serve as the primary point of contact for the company's Account Managers and will be responsible for the quality, staffing, scheduling, and overall performance of their team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Painting Quality Control

• Ensure all painting work meets the company's quality standards and project specifications.
• Inspect completed work to ensure proper surface preparation, clean lines, uniform coverage, and a professional finish.
• Ensure surfaces are properly prepared, including patching, sanding, priming, and protecting surrounding areas as needed.
• Identify and correct imperfections, paint defects, and incomplete work promptly.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and ensure proper protection of floors, furniture, fixtures, and other surfaces.
• Address complaints and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring quality issues.

2. Recruitment and Team Management

• Recruit and hire qualified painters to build and maintain a reliable team.
• Train and supervise team members to ensure consistent workmanship and compliance with project requirements.
• Manage the team's schedules, attendance, and staffing coverage.
• Ensure the team has the appropriate tools, equipment, and materials needed to complete assigned work.
• Address personnel and performance issues directly with the team.

3. Communication with Account Managers

• Communicate directly with the company's Account Managers regarding project schedules, work assignments, progress, and completion timelines.
• Provide updates on project status, staffing, material needs, and potential delays.
• Respond promptly to feedback, requests, and quality concerns from Account Managers.
• Report unexpected conditions, additional work requirements, or issues that may affect project costs or deadlines.
• Confirm when projects are completed and when identified deficiencies have been corrected.

4. Accountability and Project Management

• Take full responsibility for the quality and performance of the painting team.
• Ensure all work is completed according to the agreed scope of work, specifications, and contractual requirements.
• Coordinate labor, materials, and scheduling to complete projects efficiently and on time.
• Follow applicable safety requirements and proper paint handling and cleanup procedures.
• Ensure the work area is clean and all tools, equipment, and materials are properly managed at the end of each project.
• Maintain reliable service delivery and professional standards without requiring the company to manage the painting team directly.

Primary Performance Priority

Quality is the highest priority. The Painting Subcontractor Supervisor is expected to deliver professional, consistent, and durable painting results, ensure proper preparation and finishing, minimize rework, and resolve any deficiencies promptly.

Performance will be evaluated based on workmanship, inspection results, project completion timelines, staffing reliability, communication with Account Managers, and overall accountability for the team's work.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $800.00 - $1,500.00 per week

Work Location: In person
