Palliative/Hospice Assistant

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated In Home Assistants to provide essential Palliative/Hospice support and assistance for an 83 year old disabled man from 7am to 7pm and 7pm to 7 am.

What’s available:

7am to 7pm Sunday through Tuesday and every other Saturday

7pm to 7am Sunday through Tuesday and every other Saturday

7pm to 7am Wednesday through Friday and every other Saturday

As an In Home Assitant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for him by offering personalized care tailored for his unique needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care services including bathing, grooming, and dressing assistance. Assist with incontinence and provide cath care.
• Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules. This includes regular meds and insulin injections.
• Change wound dressing(s) per doctors orders
• Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and laundry.
• Support individual needs, ensuring safety and engagement through meaningful activities.
• Work collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition.
• Prefer availability of 12 hours per day.
• Pay is based on the experience and reference record.
• Excellent patient monitoring skills.

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience in caregiving or related fields. Key skills include:

• Proven experience in caregiving, particularly with individuals with skilled nursing needs/hospice/palliative.
• Compassionate/friendly
• Self motivated
• Flexible/able to adapt to medical changes
• Knowledge of medication administration protocols.
• First aid certification is preferred.
• Cooking skills to prepare nutritious meals for client are highly desirable (primarily 7am to 7pm)
• Clean back ground

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour

Experience:

• Wound care (wet to dry): 1 year (Preferred)
• PEG tube: 1 year (Preferred)
• Insulin Management : 1 year (Preferred)
• Vital signs: 1 year (Preferred)
• Housekeeping : 1 year (Preferred)
• Assisting with ADLs: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

• Driver's License (Required)

Shift availability:

• Day Shift (Preferred)
• Overnight Shift (Preferred)
